Men who fought in the Waffen-SS do not receive any veterans' benefits. HIAG (Hilfsgemeinschaft auf Gegenseitigkeit der Angehörigen der ehemaligen Waffen-SS) was an organization of Waffen-SS veterans that helped other Waffen-SS vets who were wounded or handicapped and were having trouble making ends meet in their golden years. At its height in the 1960s around 70,000 of the approximately 250,000 former Waffen-SS members living in West Germany were members of HIAG. HIAG disbanded in 1996. We are trying to fill the gap HIAG left behind by helping a group of former HIAG Veterans in Munich. As one HIAG member said, "We are still gute Kameraden and one stays for the other; that's what TREUE means."
Thus far the National Socialist Movement under the Command of Jeff Schoep has sent over $500.00 to these great fighters for our Blood! We hope to continue in the future to support the members of HIAG with additional fundraising events. Wonderful mugs were sold at the National Meeting and the money all ready has been sent to HIAG. Here is a brief comment from a Comrade in Germany
..."thanks a lot for your donation to HIAG Muenchen. All is well here but the comrades pass away more than in the last years so I hope it will be enough for this year. Herzliche Gruesse und Danke schoen"...We have just a few of the mugs left from the National Meeting and one of these was presented to Waffen-SS veteran and activist Ted Junker. If you are interested in a mug contact nsmwv@yahoo.com.
